Argenta Community Garden at Manees House featured on KATV.
The City of North Little Rock has awarded a total of $18,956 to seven community garden projects in North Little Rock. There will be a check presentation at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28, at the Argenta Vegetable Garden on 5th and North Maple Street behind the Baker House.
Grants were awarded to:
Argenta Community Garden: $2,535
Dark Hollow CDC: $1,980
Dixie Community Gardens: $3,105
East Second Street Community Garden: $3,300
The People Tree/Argenta Vegetable Garden: $3,300
The People Tree/Sherman Park CDC: $3,300
Senior Citizens Outreach Service: $1,436
The Fit 2 Live Community Garden Grant Program is funded by North Little Rock’s City Council as part of
an effort to increase access to fresh fruits and vegetables across the City. City Council allocated a total of
$40,000 ($10,000 for each of the city’s four wards) to assist with building or improving community gardens. The grants are part of North Little Rock’s on-going Fit 2 Live wellness initiative, committed to increasing healthy eating and active living opportunities for all residents.
