What is Heaven's Loft?

Heaven's Loft is an incentive program that encourages low-income expectant mothers and parents of young children to receive prenatal care, well baby care, immunizations and education.

Who is involved in running the program?

Heaven's Loft is a project of the Junior League of North Little Rock in partnership with Baptist Health Medical Center-North Little Rock.

How does Heaven's Loft work?

Parents are awarded a voucher when they keep preventive maternity care or childcare appointments, or watch educational videos. The earned vouchers can be spent like cash on baby supplies in the Heaven's Loft store, located at 520 West 26th Street, North Little Rock, Arkansas. Hours of operation are on Saturdays from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Heaven's Loft is closed on holiday weekends and for a few weeks in the summer. Call the store or the League office for exact opening information.

Who can use Heaven's Loft vouchers and where can participants earn vouchers?

The program is open to any parent who needs help in getting items for his or her child, and who has utilized the services of participating physicians' offices or health agencies. (Call the Heaven's Loft store at (501) 753-0180 or the League office at (501) 372-1436 to get a list of current participants.) Vouchers can also be earned at the Heaven's Loft store by watching educational videos. Other opportunities for earning vouchers will be added at a later date.

What items can be purchased with vouchers?

Vouchers can be used to buy diapers, clothing, high chairs, strollers, cribs and mattresses, playpens, bathtubs, toiletry items and other baby supplies. All items may not be available at any one time. Check with the Heaven's Loft store for availability.

What is the Heaven's Loft Wellness Center?

The Wellness Center is located next to Heaven's Loft in the same building. It offers free health screening services to expectant and new mothers. It is one of several community wellness centers provided by Baptist Health Medical Center-North Little Rock. The center provides education and resources on childbirth, breastfeeding, infant and child care and parenting. Hours of operation are on Wednesdays from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.

How can the community become involved with Heaven's Loft?

Members of the community can sponsor a baby shower for Heaven's loft, donate items as an individual or volunteer to work at Heaven's Loft. Donations of new or gently used baby and children's clothing up to size 4T are welcome, as well as equipment for babies and toddlers. Community organizations and businesses are encouraged to sponsor a baby shower for Heaven's Loft and donate all gifts to the store. Heaven's Loft volunteers are available to speak at any baby shower or business function.
